Good sleep is never the work of one product. It's the foundation holding your body correctly, the fill keeping you at the right temperature, the weave against your skin, and the finish that makes the room feel considered rather than assembled. At Maison de Cocon, this is what Premium Schlafkultur actually means in practice — not a single hero product, but five categories built to work as one system. Here's how each layer earns its place in that system, and what to look for in it.
Beds & Bed Benches: the layer everything else depends on
The bed frame decides more than comfort – it decides posture, sitting height, and how the room reads at a glance. Our beds are upholstered in velvet: velvet upholstered beds and velvet shell beds, in sizes from 90×200 to 180×200 cm. A storage bed bench at the foot of the bed, in bouclé or corduroy, adds a place to sit and somewhere to put things away. This is the layer worth getting right first – everything else in the bedroom is easier to adjust later.
Duvets: what actually regulates your night
Temperature is the most common reason people wake up – too warm under a heavy duvet, too cold under a light one. Our Tencel™ duvets cover that range: the High Summer Duvet is our lightest option for hot nights, and the Four Seasons Duvet pairs a lighter summer duvet with a spring/autumn duvet that tie together for winter. TENCEL™ Lyocell is breathable and plant-based, and both duvets use it for the shell and the filling.
Bed Linen: the layer your skin actually touches
Our bed linen is made from TENCEL™ Lyocell and bamboo viscose: duvet covers, fitted sheets, pillowcases and bedding sets. TENCEL™ comes in twill and sateen, so the choice can match your climate and habits rather than a single default. Product pages state the fibre and weave and the care instructions, so you can compare before you buy. Bed linen that stands up to repeated washing is worth more than a good first impression – the care instructions on each product page show how to treat it.
Bedspreads & Throws: the layer that finishes the room
A bedspread or throw does two practical jobs: it protects the layers beneath it from dust between changes, and it gives the room a made, tailored look the moment you walk in. Our range includes wool, alpaca and merino throws and bedspreads – as comfortable folded at the end of a sofa as draped over a bed. Subtle texture – a bouclé throw, a fine wool – does more visual work here than pattern.
Decorative Cushions and Sleepwear: the finishing touches
Decorative cushions in cotton velvet, linen and other fabrics add colour and texture without touching the bed linen. For the night itself, our nightgowns and pyjamas in TENCEL™ Lyocell and our sleep masks in TENCEL™ sateen or silk complete the system.
